Xiaomi Relaunches HyperOS 3 Update for Xiaomi 13T Pro and Poco F5 Following Bootloop Fix

March 26, 2026

BEIJING — Xiaomi has officially resumed the rollout of its latest HyperOS 3 interface for the Xiaomi 13T Pro and Poco F5. The move comes after a rocky initial launch last month, which forced the tech giant to pull the update due to a critical “restart bug” that caused widespread bootloops among early adopters.

The revised update, delivered via an Over-the-Air (OTA) system, now includes the February 2026 security patch and promises a significantly more stable experience.

Android 16 for 13T Pro, Android 15 for Poco F5

The rollout highlights a divergence in Xiaomi’s software strategy for its sub-brands. The Xiaomi 13T Pro update is built upon the new Android 16 architecture, offering users the latest core system improvements from Google alongside Xiaomi’s custom skin.

In contrast, the Poco F5 is receiving HyperOS 3 based on Android 15. This limitation is due to the device’s specific update lifecycle, having already exhausted its primary Android version upgrades. While Poco F5 users get the new UI features, they will miss out on the underlying Android 16 optimizations.

What’s New in HyperOS 3?

Beyond critical bug fixes, HyperOS 3 introduces several aesthetic and functional overhauls:

  • HyperIsland: A new dynamic UI element that integrates notifications with system information, reminiscent of Apple’s Dynamic Island but optimized for the Xiaomi ecosystem.
  • Enhanced Multitasking: Users can now drag notifications downward to instantly transform them into efficient “Floating Windows.”
  • Visual Refinement: The update brings a cleaner aesthetic, redesigned home screen icons, and significantly smoother transition animations.

Official Firmware Versions

While Pro users celebrate the fix, owners of the standard Xiaomi 13T remain in a holding pattern. Reports from XiaomiTime indicate that the HyperOS 3 build for the non-Pro model is still in development. The delay suggests ongoing optimization challenges, leaving the standard variant at least several weeks behind its Pro counterpart.
